Daly River Round 1 – 2020

Round 1 of the 2020 Top End Barra Series heads to the Daly over the weekend of the 7th & 8th March

The Round 1 Scorecard will be sent out on Thursday 5th March in the afternoon by email to enable people travelling down earlier to have it on hand. The scorecard will also be available on the website for download on Thursday.

Best of luck to everyone during Round 1.

VHF 71 for this Round.

You can fish from Clear Creek to the old Daly River Crossing

Cautions:  Please stay safe on the river, look out for stumps, sand / mudbars and rockbars when travelling.

As of Saturday 29th February the river is rising and at 9.40am it was 9.8 metres at the Daly River Police Station. It is expected to rise further and then steady in the next few days. With a bit of luck it will start to fall by next weekend.

There will be no contingency plan put in place unless the situation changes and there is no access to the launch sites and or the river becomes too high and dangerous.

Fishing is from 6am Saturday until 6pm Sunday.  Results for Round 1 to be in by 5pm Monday 9th unless a prior arrangement has been made with Ross.

Please use the upload results tab on the tebs.fish website.

There are also new additions on the upload page to place your mystery fish and Iron Jack Legend Nomination photos.

If you do experience any difficulty with uploading your fish to the website, please contact Ross at tebs2020@iinet.net.au

The results on the web will be provisional until they have been checked. The final Round 1 scores will be confirmed by Friday 13th March 2020.

Lures: It would be great if you could put the effort into telling us what lures your fish were caught on when uploading your images in the comments sections as this would be helpful feedback to send back to our lure sponsors.

Photographing Fish.

When photographing your fish on your measure device ensure the mouth is closed and the round card is next to the fish. Clear photos make it easier for point score verification. Fish will be adjusted down by scorers accordingly if mouth is opened. It is important that you ensure that your camera is set to the correct date so this information is embedded in the image’s meta data. Disable location services if you would like this to remain private.

Photos and Comments:

Any interesting comments coming out of the weekend are welcome. Photos of people catching fish, boats out on the water, action shots, wildlife and people holding fish are all important to us to provide to Alex Julius’ NT News column, our web page and Facebook page. If you have taken a few shots would you please email them with any comments to  tebs2020@iinet.net.au by Tuesday afternoon.  Photos taken in high resolution format are the best for media. The deadline for Alex is Tuesday night.
